Oh jan, you have been away for awhile, but my oh my...what a comeback!! From the first moment you began showing me this beauty, I was taken in, first by the colors, how they just worked so beautifully, and I am not sure what that green has in it (some kind of magic I think:) but it make all the other colors become more so..more blue, more yellow, more orange and pink.. all set against a mysterious infinite sky. Your figure, and this is the first time you use a figure in more than year I think, is just so alluring..an angel, a unisex presence who has dropped down among the birds the greenery, the life and foliage of the earth plane, almost pained in this process, but also in ecstasy becoming part of what he has descended into. Then right hand points upwards to higher planes, and also to action. The left hand is over the heart, passive, waiting, patient and feeling. I see both the dissolving and the becoming in this enigmatic figure, but especially I see its becoming, its coming together from pieces that were blown away and now realign making him/her whole, and even more full of wisdom, a totally aware being. I could go on and on and I have with you personally, but for me this is one of your very best..truly, with no exaggeration, most assuredly, one of your very best. The process you lived to be able to paint this is also amazing..Dear Artist...you just keep getting better!!

Ah yes... you remember it. And i too am excited to see where this painting goes from here. I love not knowing, and just playing and painting what comes in the moment. I have no thoughts about it, which feels free and adventurous. I learn to just allow it to happen.
Thank you Karima... for always being so supportive of my art, and for appreciating what this new approach is about. You have also learned the beautiful power of surrender... surprises happen... like with you, every poem and your music along with your poetry, your machinima videos... you just open and these amazing things happen!

Jan,
I think after all this time, and all the years I have seen that painting propped up on your floor, next to the doorway, you have decided it was time to finish it, and now in a brand new way, Seven years ago you never would have or could have done what you are doing to her drape, which is excitingly morphing into some magical, almost crystallizing effect. Now that you have been "catapulted" into the abstract and crossing your own new frontiers in your art, I can't wait to see where this one goes and finally rests. It was always was a beautiful unfinished painting..now it will be something else too besides that:)

Kari!! I am so delighted that you visited my cyber attempts at communication. Yes!! So fun, my latest art has just been dancing, and i am having the best time celebrating it!! It is wonderful to have awake eyes such as yours to dive deep into the images and allow them to take you on a journey. This one, Speechless...was an interesting journey for me as well. The painting organically flowed into being....and after the bubbles formed, i was moved to put little stars of light in them....and then....One of the stars turned into what felt like an Angelic Force...and i was just joyful to feel the energy that came in at that moment. Thank you so much for your comment!!!

WOW! This is not what I thought I would see as I check into you blog but the surprised only added to the beauty. I agree to the fullest with Karima. To see a new freedom in your art is the greatest. To watch you transform. grow, and dive in in a new way on canvas is beautiful. I can only imagine the inner personal transcendence that is happening. Again you amaze me and INSPIRE me.

It's a snapshot of the uncarved block, the primordial ooze before man starting naming things. A tad chaotic, but hey there won't be all the usual attachment going down as we race for identification with what we wish were there.

Karima.......you find such inspiring words for this wordless, idea-less color play i have been recently painting. These paintings have a different kind of energy than more representational art ....they reach into a inner place of perception for the viewer that is not so much about ideas, and more about allowing ones self to just look, experience....and feel...(or even not feel )...in any case there is an invitation. No mental to it. Painting them is a joy for me. I felt a deep connection when you said in your comment: "...there is a sense of freedom to play, to express joy in sweeping abstract strokes, each one born from being splattered and tossed into the world, by an artist who has herself been set free..."
My newest art is such a 'jump off the cliff' from my previous art.
Part of my personal liberation is about letting go of needing approval to feel validated. Step into a new paradigm which has nothing at all to do with that...very liberating and light...
Let the empty charged moment shine....then make a mark, then another.... on a white field of waiting canvas. Or on a day. Take a walk, contemplate a flower, or chop wood and carry water...all the same...we are creators!
Thank you so much Karima for your enthusiastic support....it is mirrored by my own admiration of your amazing and ever expanding art.
